Exercise Motivation Guide

Great, you’ve begun your new weight loss program, but now you have to remain motivated to exercise. Starting something new usually means being excited to begin and make the change. The dilemma is that then other things in life start to get in the way and it becomes simple to find ways out of working out. What’s your main motivation to keep doing this? What’s your reason for wanting to lose the weight and keep working out? We’re going to take a look at some methods that help us staying motivated.

 Short-Term Goals

Remember, keep a list of milestones that can be achieved in early and late stages of any plan you’re on.Your motivation and accomplishments will come from not only setting your desired final result, but achieving your early results as well. Initially set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives that you wish to achieve. Once you reach your initial goals, you’ll find yourself wanting to hurry up and get to the next one. Staying motivated is a change in your lifestyle and stepping outside of your comfort zone, take the first step.

 Motivation Through Music

Another great way to stay motivated is to use music as your assistant. Load up the MP3 with your favorite music or audio books and you’ll be surprised how much motivation you can fire up. Try to find songs with a regular paced beat through them. Studies show that a change in tempo from fast to slow and back to fast again can have a negative effect on exercise results. Look for other resources to listen to that make you feel motivated like self help tapes or other information.

 Fitness Diary

A food log is an important step to most programs, and the addition of a fitness record can be just as productive. Remember to track your successes as you maintain your log and accomplish your objectives. Don’t be afraid to let others see your charts and graphs as you reach your objectives and waypoints on this journey. Be sure to write down your daily achievements to compare to your goals.

 Embrace The Journey

Don’t let yourself get so caught up in the improvements and work, that you forget to enjoy the transformation you’re achieving. You may have a busy schedule and are feeling like it’s too hard to continue working on a program to get into better physical condition, but after that plan is in motion it can be surprising how much more energy you will have. Praise yourself at the commitment you’ve made to becoming healthier! Where’s the next hurdle or objective that you need to achieve? Beginners can’t fake the feeling of energy and eagerness that comes naturally to advanced fitness enthusiasts, but they surely can feel it as they continue.
